Being so close to the Forest
We could walk there for Goose Fair, fireworks or just to play in all that open space without having to worry about driving or parking.

A home for all needs
The house has changed and adapted with us. We bought it in our 20s and it was initially the house for friends, drinks, dinners and parties. Then later it became our family home - one of the bedrooms became a nursery. It always was what we needed it to be.

Everything you actually need is close by
Schools, shops, supermarkets, places to eat (this really is a “world kitchen”), community facilities and places of worship are all within easy reach. It's one of those areas where everyday life is genuinely convenient.

It’s in striking distance of everything
We can walk into Nottingham, or jump on the tram when we don't fancy it. There are buses too, so getting around the city is incredibly easy. For longer journeys, where you might prefer to drive, we’re 5 mins from the M1 and less to the ring road, perfect for visiting friends and family further afield.

Living internationally without moving
We had neighbours from all different backgrounds and cultures. There was always someone offering us food, Indian sweets and curries over the wall. Our boys loved it and played out all the time with other children from all over the world.

The fireplace
It really was a centre-piece and an unsung hero. We gathered around it all year long – in the summer it helped us focus on each other; in the winter it also brought warmth and took our attention and letters to Santa went straight up there every year with the boys.
